Ms. St. Lifer is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, Washington DC. She is also a member of the Auctioneers Association, Inc., New York, NY and the International Foundation of Art Research (IFAR), New York, NY.

ABOUT JANE ST. LIFER

The Senior Appraiser, Jane St. Lifer has four decades of experience in the international art world and established her firm in 1986. 

 

Jane was born in New York City and grew up in Summit, NJ. She is the daughter of devoted art collectors of American paintings and became interested in art as a young girl.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University in Fine Art, Masters in Art Education from the New Jersey City State University and a Certificate in Appraisal Studies from George Washington University. 

She served as the Director of several galleries in New York, New Jersey, and Arizona.  In 1986 she established her firm.  Ms. St. Lifer spent time in the UK consulting for private clients. She authenticated paintings by Jean Renoir, Camille Pissaro, and Asger Jorn and helped recover a George Luks painting for the FBI.

 

Today she works out of her New York City and Jersey City offices with private collectors, artist’s estates, and corporate collections of all sizes.  Regional corporate art consultants use St. Lifer’s appraisal services for individual projects.  She is passionate about the arts, cooking, and hiking.
